We are currently seeking an On-line Market Analyst to support, primarily, our furniture business. The Analyst will work to promote and improve our sales performance by capturing retailer and consumer data, and by developing marketing programs that leverage that information to reach more customers with compelling sales messages.


  • Data mining of on-line customers; collect data from retailers on product sales trends
  • Collect and interpret data to determine links between sales and consumer behavior

This position covers diverse aspects of marketing our products, requiring an eye for detail, excellent data analysis and problem-solving skills, and an ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. The Analyst will compile data, extract key learnings, and communicate findings clearly and effectively (written and orally) to various teams. This person will develop an in-depth understanding of quantitative analysis, market research and will be on the leading edge of on-line marketing. Opportunities to work closely with all leading e-retailers are integral to this role (our partners include the biggest names in web retail). In partnership with the retailers, the Analyst will measure the success (ROI, Conversion) of digital advertising campaigns, offers and other marketing programs via attribution models, mixed media modeling and custom reporting. As data is converted to information, and information is synthesized into knowledge, this role will be a key driver in meeting our business objectives, leveraging insights to increase conversion and drive revenue.

This individual will be responsible for designing mechanical parts, assemblies and systems to meet customer requirements. Researching components and other aspects of design. Providing engineering support and guidance to manufacturing organization. Managing the NPD process by maintaining effective communication with management, sales, production, procurement, and quality organizations.

Responsibilities include:

  • Design of the mechanical aspects of outdoor furniture and spa cabinets.
  • Interface with customers to provide design engineering support for new products.
  • Interface with vendors for new designs or issue resolution with existing designs.
  • Building prototypes as proof of design concept.

Responsibilities include:

  • Design and development of new work cells using Lean principles.
  • Initiate and lead development including tooling/fixture design and process automation.
  • Provide technical support and training on manufacturing process.
  • Developing, maintaining and updating all documentation required to support the manufacturing process.
  • Develop CAD drawings and hands on involvement in all aspects of project completions.
  • Manage projects to acquire and install new equipment and/or to upgrade existing equipment, including development and management of budget and ROI analysis.
  • Evaluate equipment and work with vendors to recommend appropriate modifications and/or new equipment. Support the installation, modification of equipment and roll out to operations.
  • Identify and implement product improvements related to design, assembly, and packaging.
  • Apply Lean principle in resolving manufacturing issues, supporting changeover and setup improvements.

Part Time

Highwood USA is seeking an Engineering Intern student to assist with manufacturing improvement projects. We are a rapidly growing plastics extrusion and manufacturing company in Hometown PA. The Engineering Intern will perform activities concerned with design, development, testing, and implementation of equipment upgrades and product development. The position will report directly to the Plant Engineer and will assist in performing engineering analysis, developing CAD Drawings, and generating new ideas for improvements.

Projects include:

  • Improvements to equipment in furniture manufacturing cell.
  • Assist with implementing Lean Manufacturing Tools
  • Assist with the development of new product prototypes.

Required Skills:

  • Proficient in AutoCAD or equivalent CAD software

Highwood is seeking an Electrical Mechanical Technician to help support recently added CNC machinery and to expand our industrial automation capability.

We are a rapidly growing plastics Extrusion Company located in Hometown, Pa., who manufactures our own products from these extrudates.

The Electrical Mechanical Technician will be responsible for troubleshooting, repairing and maintaining a wide variety of production and plant support equipment. They will report to the Maintenance Manager. Their responsibilities will include, but are not limited to; troubleshooting and repairing mechanical, pneumatic, electrical, and electronic equipment.

Experience repairing CNC equipment is a must. Experience with robotic equipment is a definite plus, but must be willing to learn. The individual must be able to repair all types of equipment failures including PLC, VFD, and be proficient with the use of diagnostic instruments.

The ideal candidate will be a team player, self-starter, able to work unsupervised, lead projects and meet deadlines. We are a 5 day operation; however, this candidate must be able to work occasional overtime as needed. This includes weekends, working off shift or modified shifts as situations arise.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Diagnose problems with PLCs and complex control systems
  • Work safely in a Team Environment, and adhere to Highwood’s safety regulations, as well as compliances mandated by federal, state, and local regulations
  • Develop and perform Preventative Maintenance
  • Troubleshoot and repair plant equipment and perform Root Cause Analysis
  • Assist with design, assembly, and installation of electrical mechanical equipment
  • Prepare requisitions for spare parts, project parts, and maintenance supplies
  • Understand and use blue prints, schematics, wiring diagrams, and ladder logic
  • Work from prints, sketches and verbal instructions
  • Install electrical or electronic hardware
  • Analyze and record test results, and prepare written test documentation

Job Requirements

  • Degree or Certificate in a related field required or a minimum of 3-5 years equivalent experience/working knowledge
  • Proficient with using testing and diagnostic equipment.
  • Experience maintaining and repairing electronics, instrumentation, motors, machinery, etc.
  • Experience trouble-shooting, testing and calibrating equipment

  • Operation of compound and profile extrusion lines from start up through packaging of finished product
  • Color and tool changeovers
  • Understanding of quality specifications and performance/documentation of quality checks
  • Basic maintenance such as inspection, care and cleaning of equipment
  • Trouble shooting of equipment and process issues
  • Participation in continuous improvement projects/teams
  • Complete and accurate documentation of production, scrap, run conditions, and other key data

  • Packing, banding and wrapping finished product

Responsible for the entire process associated with fabricating furniture and panels from raw material handling through QA and packing finished product.

Can operate hand tools and power tools, including but not limited to drill/screw gun, staple gun, brad nailed, router, chop saw.

Modified 1st shift (9:50 am to 6:10 pm)

The logistic technician will be responsible for the following duties:

  • Performing daily forklift checklist
  • Staging orders/loading trucks
  • Managing floor space constraints vs. inventory levels
  • Ensuring shipping requirements meet customer specifications, including stacking heights, pallet requirements, and banding
  • Shipping/receiving all Bulk, packaging and MRO items as well as UPS items. Includes receiving into IQMS
  • Managing shipment of samples from suppliers
  • Reviewing Certificate of Analysis for deliveries /give to Quality Department
  • Performing monthly physical inventory of raw materials and finished goods and cycle counts
  • Preparing and shipping customer samples UPS/FED EX

Leading and managing hourly technicians in a team-based environment. Accountable for delivering results in key areas of safety, quality, yield, and productivity. The Team Manager will also be responsible for managing performance, coaching, developing teams and individuals, leading process improvements, and developing systems.

Experience leading in a team-based environment required. Extrusion experience a plus. Must have a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent management experience.

This is a fast-paced position that requires an energized and organized individual who can meet strict deadlines. Responsibilities include processing orders, communicating with customers and consumers, assisting AR, coordinating with logistics and manufacturing, inventory monitoring, sending samples and handling general questions and concerns via phone and email.

Degree or Certificate in a related field or a minimum of 5 years of experience required. The ideal candidate should have exceptional attention to detail and communication skills. The candidate should also possess the ability to multi-task and be able to show a proficiency in project management - the ability to plan actions to hit short term (daily) and longer term milestones. The Inventory Coordinator will be responsible for overall management of inventory from receipt through shipment of finished goods. This position will be tasked with ensuring inventory accuracy, flow, and turns are within goals. The position will also be responsible for creation of new part numbers in ERP system and creation/maintenance of Bills of Material.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Monitoring and controlling inventory integrity.
  • Maintaining product identification and location program.
  • Researching inventory discrepancies and making necessary corrections.
  • Responsible for overseeing physical inventories/cycle counts/random or receipt audits/reconciliations

  • Design, produce, and test wood products.
  • Build furniture using hand tools.
  • Use automated machinery, such as computerized numerical control (CNC) machines.
  • Perform work in high production assembly line facility.
  • Set up, operate, and tend drill presses, lathes, shapers, routers, sanders, planers, and wood-nailing machines.
  • Cut, shape, and smooth wooden parts.
  • Verify dimensions using caliper or ruler.
  • Add fasteners and adhesives and connect the pieces to form a complete unit.
  • Operate specialized pieces of woodworking machinery.
  • Complete all stages of woodworking process.
  • Repair wooden furniture, and other wood products.
